The security of our customers' private information is our primary concern. If you are browsing our website you probably know the many benefits of networking, shopping, and even banking online.  While we are proud to offer convenient services like internet banking and e-statements, there are risks associated with transacting business over the internet. The Bank of Cave City offers advice and training on sound practices for internet banking.  To enhance the security of your financial information we recommend you implement your own controls to prevent unauthorized transactions. Examples of these controls are as follows:

One of the first times you access your accounts online, we’ll ask you to choose and answer three Personal Verification Questions.

During future online sessions, we’ll ask you some of these questions if we feel there is a possibility that someone other than you is attempting to access your information.  Please choose answers that you will remember.  Incorrectly answering questions can lead to your account access being disabled.

We will never contact you and ask you to confirm or update your private information.  We will not email, call, or write requesting that you provide us any of the following information:

  • Social Security number

  • Bank account numbers

  • Debit/credit card numbers or PINs

  • Internet Banking ID or password

Always refrain from opening unsolicited email and attachments or emails claiming to be representing financial institutions.  Do not respond to emails requesting information or click on links re-directing you to a website.

We will NEVER email you for your personal information.  Any email claiming to be the bank requesting personal information such as Social Security Numbers, IDs, or passwords should not be trusted or opened and should be considered fraudulent. Please notify us if you suspect this kind of fraudulent activity.  If you have any questions, please call us at 870.283.5301.  To cancel your debit card after business hours, you should call 1.888.297.3416.


Please do not share your Internet Banking ID or passwords with anyone.  If an individual with rights to your accounts wishes to help manage your accounts online, we can give that individual his or her own ID and password.

Do not write your password down.

Use a different password to access your online accounts than ones you use for other applications.

Do not use the contact us form on our website to inform us that you are locked out of internet banking or request a new password.  The form is not encrypted, should not be used to submit confidential information.  We will not respond to electronic requests to ensure the security of your accounts.

To prevent fraud maintain up-to-date operating system security patches and install updated virus/spyware protection software to keep your computer safe from malicious software..

Install a firewall to prevent attacks from malicious connections on the internet.

Review and monitor your accounts and statements frequently for unauthorized or suspicious transactions and activity.

Always exit your online banking session before leaving your computer.

Debit Card Travel Tips

If you are planning to travel, here are some helpful tips to ensure a hassle free trip when it comes to your debit card:

  1. Help avoid snags when using your card while traveling out of state or out of the country by notifying us of  your travel destination(s).  To minimize the risk of fraud, the Bank of Cave City blocks the use of your debit card outside of the United States.

  2. The following states do not allow signature based transactions and require a PIN to use your card:  California, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, Illinois, Alabama, New Jersey, New York, Michigan and Florida.

  3. Know your daily withdrawal and purchase limits before you leave.  It is possible to have it temporarily increased for your trip.

  4. Protect your PIN. This may seem like old news, but people are still shocked when they realize somebody looked over their shoulder and scooped their PIN number (and then scooped their debit card a few minutes later). Don’t hesitate to cover your PIN number as you enter it, either at the ATM or cashier and don’t write your PIN down and keep it in your wallet with your card!

  5. In case there’s an issue with your card, have our contact information available so you can get in touch with us from the road. If, for example, your debit card is stolen, you can call us to freeze the account.

  6. Consider signing up for online banking (if you haven’t already) and periodically check the transactions on your account to ensure all is well. The quicker you spot a problem and alert us, the better the chances of deterring theft of your money.
